Dr. Philip Leber
received graduate level training in organic/analytical chemistry with doctoral degree in toxicology from Purdue University. He conducted metabolism studies on polycyclic aromatic compounds as well as toxicity evaluations of drugs and pesticides at Battelle Labs. Subsequently, he provided research/regulatory toxicology expertise at PPG Industries and Goodyear Tire, assessing health and environmental risks of solvents, rubber and plastic monomers, pesticides, food additives, and anti-oxidants. More recently, Dr. Leber performed ecological fate/toxicity evaluations of lubricant additives for Lubrizol Corporation. He has taught online courses for ACS for ~8 years including “Ecotoxicity” and “Toxicology for Chemists”, and will now teaches an applied risk assessment course at Kent State University. Currently, Dr. Leber provides consulting services in the areas of environmental and chemical hazard assessments in non-pharmaceutical issues.
