received his Bachelors of Science in Chemistry and Bachelors of Science Secondary Education in Chemistry and Physics from Northwest Missouri State University. His Doctorate in Chemistry was awarded by the University of Arkansas. Since graduation, Dr. Askew has worked in the pesticide industry both for private and governmental entities and for the last 14 years he has worked in the water and wastewater field. He has served as the chair of the Laboratory Practices Committee for the Iowa Water Pollution Control Association, is currently the chair of the AWWA-Iowa Section Laboratory Practices Committee. He has been a committee member of Standard Methods for the Examination of Water and Wastewater for 13 years and the Part Coordinator for Part 4000 (Inorganic Analytes) for the last 9 years. Dr. Askew is currently an Assistant professor in the Chemistry Department at Ashford University and the Technical Director of LaBServe, a laboratory training company. Dr. Askew?s contribution to the environmental field has been recognized by the Iowa Water Pollution Control Association Laboratory Analyst award; the IOWATER Professional of the Year; the Iowa Governors Award for Volunteerism (Watershed Testing); and the Water Environment Federation, Arthur Sidney Bedell Award for service.
